UHS launch “youdesign” furniture configurator
Have you ever wished that you could accurately incorporate customised furniture into your design specifications? Ever wanted more control when it comes to choosing finishes and fabrics to get your perfect match?
UHS Group has officially launched the “youdesign” configurator tool this week, giving customers better control of the design process, and allowing them to tailor every detail of their furniture order in just a few clicks!

From choosing the wood finish to picking the colour of the frame, the tool lets you customise the minute details of your furniture, giving those working in the hospitality industry increased control and flexibility when it comes to the design of their venues.
The digital service will be available for five products to start, including the Trapp chair, Tagg chair, Morello armchair, Regent barstool and Oxford armchair. The Abingdon-based business are scheduled to release an additional 25 products by the end of May, and another 25 by the end of June, allowing 55 products to be configured in total.
The level of personalisation offered is so extensive that the Oxford armchair – one of the first products available to customise this way – can be configured in 1.2 billion combinations. Simply put, the UHS customisation tool is one of the most sophisticated of its kind in the world; there are 7 different areas to configure – from the seat of a chair to its legs – with 420 fabrics to choose from, 20 different wood finishes and 19 RAL colours.
The pioneering online tool was designed bespoke by UHS, with user experience front of mind. The service uses colour, material and price filters which let you quickly browse and select your preferred options. You can then save an image of your masterpiece when you’re done – perfect for adding to moodboards or sharing on social media!
Whether you’re furnishing a venue from scratch and looking for a full suite of furniture, or you’re hoping to revamp an existing layout, this tool can be used to create the perfect fit. With this new level of detail, and advanced capacity for bespoke designs, you can tailor your furniture to your needs.

The process uses CAD and 3D modelling software, which enables architects and designers to incorporate the furniture into their plans in enhanced detail, so they can give clients a more accurate impression of the finished product.
The tool has more cutting-edge features coming soon, including the ability to see the pricing of your order in real time, meaning that you can ensure your customisations remain within your budget. This will be particularly valuable for trade customers ordering in bulk, as they will be able to find the balance between the design they want and the budget available.
