The UHS team spent some days trawling the design and inspiration at Salone del Mobile, looking for new designs, new trends and new product inspiration. The whole place was buzzing with an enthusiastic and vibrant atmosphere. This sold our event includes manufacturers from all over the world bringing many styles, colours, cultures and trends creating a jaw dropping range of products.

The Telegraph said, “For one week every April, fiera fever subsumes Milan to the extent that many businesses, shops and hotels make approximately half of their entire annual income. Everyone in the business of design descends on the city to find inspiration in Italy’s “industrial” capital, from the Rho fairground itself to the elegant ancient marble palazzos and showrooms in town.” At this event we saw many trends and styles along with some emerging designs. 60’s bright colours to earthy tones and shades of greys along with different materials from distressed leather, grey flannel to bright copper, painted steel wire and light finished wood. We saw glamour through to vintage, traditional through to contemporary, it was a feast for designers and the like!

Highlights of the show are now hitting the press and here we have picked out a few:- Design Bureau: – ‘Paul Smith & Maharam collaborated with Carl Hansen & Son to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Danish designer Hans J. Wegner. Smith selected his favorite Wegner pieces, including the iconic Wishbone chair, for a capsule collection in partnership with Maharam. Vibrant striped textiles in bold colors and dramatic proportions salute the late Modernist pioneer a very beautiful birthday’. We include a few shots from the show…
