Hospitality trend predictions for 2017
The past several years have witnessed a revival of retro and vintage culture, and no industry has felt this more than the hospitality industry.
Bar and restaurant design has been stripped back; think exposed bricks and pipework, copper tones and industrial lighting. Furnishings that fill these spaces appear salvaged, as authentic materials are used to create an aged, distressed look.
At the same time, we’re also seeing the return of classic materials, such as plush velvets and floral prints evocative of a time gone by. Some of our recent projects – such as The Ned, The Kitty Hawk and Soho House – are great examples of this.
The retro revival trend certainly shows no sign of abating. In fact, we can see it continuing well into 2017 and beyond.
Once synonymous with high-end, boutique brands, we predict that this style will increasingly push through into the wider market, with custom furnishings becoming more readily available and most importantly, more affordable.
