Hospitality in the workplace?

POSTED ON: Monday 12, 2016

Hospitality ‘the friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers.’ An industry word for ‘comfort away from Home’ as we call it.

Predominantly this is associated with Hotels, restaurants and the leisure venues however we are seeing a huge requirement in other industries for the same looks and feel. The replication of a high street restaurant is becoming a necessity in; for example the workplace as we enter the millennial dominated environment. We see posh industrial or 1930’s inspired furniture in the ‘break out’ areas as they were once known as. These have now become part of the working space for the agile and activity based style of working. Even the ‘boardroom’ is changing with a trendy timber plank table with steel frame and an eclectic mix of chairs ranging from spindle back to metal powdercoated seating! What was once hospitality where comfort and making your guests feel at home, has become fashion led with inspiration from the mid-century classics through to in trend metal finishes where people can feel ‘cool’ in a venue!
