Ibis Styles Hotel, Gloucester Road

Designed by Philip Watts for Accor to refurbish a previous Best Western site into a new Ibis Styles in Gloucester road. Ibis Styles is an economy brand which promotes creativity and playful design, each site is themed and localised.

Due to the sites central London location, the design utilised the hub of the city- the London underground. The timeless design has subtle suggestions of the underground, through the ages. Taking inspiration from the materials, colours, surfaces and areas of the London Underground. All customer areas of the hotel required refurbishment including the lobby, breakfast area and 84 bedrooms. The existing structure is three Victorian buildings merged into one hotel, due to the age and structure of the building this highlighted challenges within the design, particularly the bedrooms where no two rooms were the same.

“Thousands of people travel on the tube every-day, and every line and station has a different character that Londoners know and love. We’ve brought this to life for guests in such fun and surprising ways so they will enjoy a unique stay every time.”. Cristina Cavaco | Hotel General Manager
